Adam was back from his movie (again, you ask him) and seemed on top of the world. It had gone really well and he now had contacts and a dream of acting so we were up for DE 3.
'Train To Nowhere' presented itself first, and Adam sang "...I'm on the train to nowhere, I wanna know if you'll go there...", it is one of his favorites. His friend Craig used Cakewalk and that is the software we were using at the time so we asked him about a great compression setting for our mixdown. He told us and we tried it; it was nothing I wanted but it did sort of make it sound like it was live and Adam liked it, so we included both versions on the album. 'K-rock' was named after another friend of Adam's who we wanted to add a monster bass track to this song, and maybe some others. But Adam loves playing the bass and waited 1 minute before he plugged himself in and said, 'Kenny can do the next one.' (it didn't happen, Adam played bass on all of the songs). 'Stray dogs' was for 2 strays that showed up at our door (we reunited them with their owners). 'Country Dogs'; Deb (my wife) says we were making fun of country folk. Maybe, but the end of the song was fun, fun, fun. Deb also said drinking whiskey at 9:00 am would give me 'Dead Brain Cells' - so that is where that title came from. Because that piece sounds a lot like what Adam does as Trip Tribe, I always say it was done by 'trip tribe junior'. ...hope you enjoy, oh, and the cow, she is polish. |
